Land Rovers Rocks in China

Land Rover sales in China rose 63 % to 17,812, while Jaguar climbed 92 %in the first half of the financial year beginning April 1. Tata motor believes China to become the second-largest market for Land Rover, and the third-largest market for Jaguar in this year.

Luxury carmakers are exploring  China to boost their growth. German luxury-car manufacturers’ sales last year were propelled by demand in China, where they all posted sales gains of at least 30%, led by a 65% jump for Stuttgart-based Porsche. Audi Chief Executive Officer Rupert Stadler estimated last month that China’s car market will expand about 8% in 2012.

Renault Upbeat on Indian Market

Mumbai: Renault the French auto major, which is keenly looking to get into the compact car segment in india to increase its market exposure, has waved the speculation of Indian media who were expecting that company is going to enter the sub-1.5-litre segment.

Renault  has revealed that they have ambitious strategy to unveil its petrol variants of compact  when Government decides to levy higher excise duty on diesel cars in upcoming union budget.

Mr Len CurranRenault India Vice President Sales and Marketing, told that Indian people changing their car much faster and so here is the growing market for the higher engine capacity . 

He also indicated that going for a sub-1.5-litre car will need a far bigger dealership network across the nation which is nit with the company.

Renault has previously revealed that it will roll out five new cars in coming  one and half year, of which it has already launched two by now.

Mr Curran has reflected the company thinking that there is a chance that Indian Government is looking to increase a higher duty on diesel cars. “If they do so, we already have a plan in place. We will look at launching petrol variants of our compact cars,” he said.

Mahindra to Unveil New Reva in 11th Delhi Auto Expo

The Bangalore-based Reva Electric Car Co which was earlier aquired by Mahindra and Mahindra and renamed as Mahindra reva is known as leading petrol free electric car maker in India.

Company is working on the improvement and continuing with the same series it is going to unveil its improved version of New Reva a  four-seat, two-door hatchback .

This is fitted with powerful lithium-ion with a 150 kmph range coming and will come in 2 variants with a price of 4.9-5.4 lakh.

The company is also considering showcasing other models that include Reva NXR, and the REVA NXG (NeXt Generation).

BMW to Launch Mini in India during Delhi Auto Expo

German car maker BMW is all set to launch its small luxury car Mini cooper, in India Mini is likely be positioned against the Fiat 500 and the Volkswagen Beetle.

The price of the mini beauty is expected to be about Rs 25 lakh.

The company will be showcasing the Mini range of cars at the 2012 Delhi Auto ExpoIndia is among the few markets where BMW is yet to introduce its gem the Mini.

FIIs withdrew $4 billion from Indian stock market in 2011

Flagging off the Year 2012 on a liberalization note, the government of India has allowed Qualified Foreign Investors (QFIs) to directly invest in the Indian equity market.

The decision comes due to sustained outflow of FII investment from Indian equity market which has resulted in rupee volatility by depreciating Indian currency by 16% in 2011.

Jenny McCarthy Makes Out With New York City Cop To celeberate New Year eve

It is a long-standing tradition for many people at Times Square, to ring in the new year with a kiss from a loved one or significant other or perhaps someone with whom sparks had flown throughout the welcome night of 2012. 

It was the the case for famous Jenny McCarthy on ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, who the cameras caught in the first minute of the year locking lips with an NYPD officer she later explained just happened to be closeby.

As the cameras recording to every reporter and host on the show tonight, the cameras caught McCarthy making out with a uniformed officer. She later had quite a bit to explain, but it appeared to be a simple story: “I just happened to be standing with that hot cop… nice to meet you!” For those wondering, he rated the kiss a perfect 10.

It was wonderful night to see the people celebrating the new year eve at times square.

Dick Clark Has Nada on Santa Claus New Years 2012 Eve Celebration

countdown was seen as the  Year 2011 felt in North Pole, Alaska. Besides, Santa’s got at least a century on Dick Clark. While Dick Clark is now 82 years old, the Santa, the version of him that puts him living at the ice of North Pole, is at least 182 years old. So if age is a consideration, Santa claus is the man, and ice full North Pole, Alaska is the place to be, or at least looking on the web cam as it gets closer to midnight.

“Christmas in Ice is the magical event that lights up the Christmas season in Interior Alaska.  Located next door to Santa Claus House, our Ice Park features Christmas-themed ice art sculptures by local and international carvers,” says the brochure that Melissa Fye produced this year.

“Christmas in Ice”, features their New Year’s Eve Snowflake Drop from 10 pm – 1 am, which is North Pole’s version of the Big Apple’s ball drop. Fireworks start at midnight, and this year’s tree, with its ten-thousand dancing LED lights, is accompanied by music syncopated with them. “…the synchronized lights will blink on and off more intensely as the clock ticks down 2011,” she says.

Every year the snowflake has a new look and presentation, this year it was designed by Jonathan Huff of Alaska Universal Productions and Tom Erte, says Melissa.  For next year, North Pole’s 2012 Version of the Big Apple drop came from Western New Yorkers, Tom and Roxy Ertel,  who wanted to bring some of New York to their new home in North Pole, says Melissa.

“Christmas In Ice” is located at 101 Santa Claus Lane at North Pole, Alaska, which is approximately twelve miles from Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway. Just look for the forty-two foot Santa Claus on your right just after the overpass, slow down and take the next right off the highway, then another sharp right back up the access road, which is Santa Claus Lane.

War Horse (2011) a great one to see

This is an amaizing story it has already created intrest amongst the fans and created their waiting croweds.

Vovlo increases its annual sales target of 5,000 buses in India

Swedish luxary bus maker Volvo sets its targets to scale up its annual sales in the Indian market to 5,000 units by 2015 from about  currently 700 unit.


Volvo makes luxury buses and it is quite comfortable so the demand of such unit is increasing in the country.

Mercedes-Benz SLK who has a tradition of getting a nose job done as along the lines of another sibling. When it was unveiled in 1997, at a first glance the SLK looked like the SL. The next generation 2005 model has nicked the nose off the SLR McLaren. but Now, the latest edition is reminiscent of SLS 350 but it is good to see it again.

Highlights:
 Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 has the looks to kill with folding top that moldes the car into a sexy convertible or a two-seater speed demon roadster. By resembling the iconic SLS model with the similar front grill and the design, the SLK 350 records more brownie points in the gorgeous department.

The  3.5-litre V6 engine of SLK 350  releases 302bhp which makes sure the cars does 0-100kmph in just 5 seconds.The smooth 7-speed automatic is extremely responsive gives a sportscar feel and making it agileas well.

 The steering wheel is bit dull with respect to the roadster.
The compact aerodynamic design stands out  almost 45-degree slope to the windshield, which gives this sexy roadster great shape .

On the handling , the roadster gives  a lot of confidence when one throw it into a sharp corner. Not only does the SLK holds its own but you don't have to battle or experience any scary understeer. But with the SLK being a mini-sports car of sorts, the steering wheel is the weak link in this fabulous package. Unfortunately it is just does not give the crisp response one expects from a roadster.

The ride quality of the SLK is something worth raving about as Mercedes has not stiffened the suspension so much that you get to feel each bump or cat-eye on the road. Usually, car manufacturers go overboard with the suspension when it comes to two-seaters and one only ends up experiencing a bone jarring ride. The SLK though is extremely practical in the city limits and while tackling traffic.

A talking point of the SLK 350 has to be the panoramic vario-roof. It gets the new Magic Sky Control roof — which alters its opacity at the push of a button. This snazzy transforming roof is now 50kg lighter too. With winter setting in, somehow the longer, wider and considerably more luxurious new SLK with it's roof tucked in the boot sounds like a good idea.

$208M Mega Millions ticket purchased on Long Island

Dennis Shivers is a comitted customer at the King Kullen store in Middle Island, where a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $208 million -- this is the largest ever for a winning ticket on Long Island -- was sold.

Shivers usually purchase a Mega ticket when he visits the store; he did not on Tuesday.

"I bought bologna," said Shivers, 55, of Ridge. "I guess that's the closest I'll come to winning...
